On Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 7:00 PM via Zoom, Antoni Lewkowicz, professor emeritus of geography, environment and geomatics at the University of Ottawa will share his reflections on “The changing Arctic: long-term observations of a thawing landscape.” Professor Lewkowicz has worked continuously in permafrost environments since 1976, including the Canadian High Arctic, the Mackenzie Valley and Delta, the Yukon, Labrador, northern Norway, Svalbard and Antarctica. In the past decade, his focus has been on the impacts of climate and other environmental change on the distribution and characteristics of permafrost.
